About the Design

The design behind Sole Solution began in clinic, not in a catalogue. After watching thousands of patients walk, run and stand over 40 years of practice, our founding podiatrist kept seeing the same patterns in foot after foot — and realised most people didn't need a completely different custom orthotic. They needed thoughtful modification of one well-designed base.

That base became this device. First registered in 1995, it builds the design parameters of the best custom-made orthoses into a pre-fabricated form: excellent rearfoot control through a stable heel section, controlled flexibility through the arch, and the versatility to be configured as a gait plate, adapted with a first-ray extension, or shaped with a subtle rocker.

It was evaluated in a 1997 University of Queensland study with favourable results, and has earned the trust of podiatrists, physiotherapists and orthopaedic clinicians in the years since — while remaining an affordable alternative to custom orthoses, without compromising on performance.

Every pair is made in Australia by the same Canterbury–Bankstown manufacturer we have partnered with from the very beginning.
